REQUIREMENTS
‘At Fortitude Danceworks our aim is for each pupil to learn, progress, explore and enjoy dancing to the fullest, as teachers we promise to deliver sessions at a high standard and develop each pupil to the best of our ability, we do ask that each pupil be committed, have regular attendance and work hard in return’
Whilst having fun in class we also need to adhere to any facility rules regarding safety and cleanliness;
Waiting rooms to be kept clean and low noise, we want to show the owners, theatre owners etc how amazing we are on and off stage and have the discipline to adhere to their requests.
DANCE SHOWS AND EXAMS
Are very important to us..
Dance shows promote the pupils’ talents, theirs and the schools’ capabilities. Furthermore, helps with confidence on stage and performing in front of others.
Exams help support the development required to move forward with technique, ability and endurance.
when these occur pupils must have nearly 100% class attendance, and attend all rehearsals pre show/exams.
Exams:
Are compulsory and taken from age 5 onwards.
Dance Shows:
Are optional, if you/your child is to take part we expect good attendance and practising outside of dance sessions.
To participate we require completion of a show form and non-refundable deposit that covers the event deposit, i.e. 2023 show was £21 per dancer in return you had 2 x tickets, anyone who has completed a form/paid deposit but decided not to participate or leave the school between receipt of the form/deposit and the show will not be refunded or receive tickets in exchange.
(Some circumstances can be discussed and agreed with the Fortitude owner Emma)
TIME OFF / HOLIDAY / ILLNESS
To let us know your child is on holiday you will need to fill out a holiday form and hand it in as soon as possible, If injured we do ask that the pupil come and watch as they can learn a lot from watching classes and helps them minimise falling behind, when ill please send a private TEXT 07532283148 (no calls will be answered in class times)
Any illness that is easily transmittable i.e. chicken pocks please stay off class.
If pupils are off for long periods of time (4 consecutive weeks plus) and the classes are at high capacity we do ask that if they are keen to come back to the class that you pay particular holding fees, as this could be a place for a new pupil waiting to attend, this also goes for low-class numbers, if numbers become too low we would have to cancel that particular class or ask that you pay each week even if unable to attend.
