Dance style explanation and Uniform required- All children to be in full uniform within two months of starting 

DISCO FREESTYLE

A fast paced ‘disco’ style, involves kicks, spins and splits

• Black leggings/cycling shorts

• Fortitude T shirt

• sports bra etc (supporting clothing)

• Hair to be tied back (whether in a pony tail, plait etc)

• bare feet

>7 Years old- Yoga blocks and ankle weights.

MUSICAL THEATRE AND LYRICAL 

• Black leggings/dance trousers/joggers for boys 

• Black Fortitude T-shirt, vest top, crop top (with support bra for older ages) 

• Hair to be tied back (whether in a pony tail, plait etc)

• Bare feet

STREET / COMMERCIAL

A ‘funkier’ dance style, involves bouncy movements with arms, knee and floor work

• Black Fortitude top

• leggings/baggy trousers

• pumps or trainers (preferably black) if you are able to get split sole jazz shoes please do as these will be used in shows.

• Black knee pads

• Hair tied back

BALLET

Traditional ballet style- disciplined.

Girls:

For Tots/Beginners

• Black or soft pink lycra sleeveless leotard with thick straps (no sleeves)

• Circular skirt or tutu

• Pink soft ballet shoes with elastic

• Pink or White socks

• Hair in bun

• Please make sure all shoes fit snug to the toes

  >12 Years

• Black thick strap leotard

• Pink or black ballet tights (full leg or ankle cut)

• Demi point and pointe shoes (c/w cushioning for toes)

• Hair in neat bun/pony

Boys: 

• smart plain black shorts

• slim white vest

• white ballet socks

• white ballet shoes with elastic

• Hair neat

TAP

• leggings

• fortitude top/t-shirt

• black tap shoes 

GIRLS JAZZ

For confident 16 years plus as songs will be more explicit

FORTITUDE MAX-STREET

Various dance styles at a high-level dance, quick learning and good memory to retain a high number of steps and movements.

• Any dance wear (Fortitude top)

• Knee pads

• Fortitude Max will change dance style so bring trainers
